Diversity in the Workplace as it relates to African Immigrants

Training Highlights

The goal of this workshop is to ensure that businesses hiring or organizations affiliating with African immigrants understand how cultural dynamics play a major role in the success of an efficient workforce or group. This training is geared towards providing appropriate diversity training from the African perspective that is culturally sensitive to the growth, development, and sustainability of healthy work or groups environment. Participants will become better informed about the culturally sensitive dynamics of the Africa culture and how these dynamics impact their work or associations. Participants will also gain a deeper understanding of the cultural values, beliefs, and differences as they relate to work and cultural. Participants will have an improved understanding of communication gaps and barriers.

We provide models and tools that are practical, adaptive, and replicable. We offer workshops, seminars, and one-on-one training. We center our focus on:

¨ Diversity training from the African Immigrant perspective in the workplace.

¨ Diversity training from the African Perspective for managing change in organizations, churches, and schools that are experiencing the increase in their African population.

¨ We customized our diversity training to meet the needs of the healthcare industry, counties and state entities, the courts, immigration and police departments experiencing or interacting with African Immigrants.

Trainer’s History

Jackson George, Jr. is a Marketer who has transformed his marketing intelligence and experience into a thought-provoking, interactive learning process. At Lutheran Social Services (LSS) he served as Resettlement Case Manager and resettled thousands of refugees from Africa and Eastern Europe. At Mount Olivet Rolling Acres he served as Staff Development Coordinator for over five years and worked in the Human Resources Department. At the Emergency Foodshelf Network, “Minnesota Free Food Bank”, he served as Field Operations Specialist working with a network of organizations in the food industry. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Comfortable Living, Inc. and Operations Manager of HopeCare PCA, Inc. both in Brooklyn Park.

Jackson served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Organizations of Liberians in Minnesota, a member of the Board of Directors of ARC Minnesota, an Advisory Committee member of the Hennepin County Multi-Cultural Diversity Committee and as a Commissioner of Brooklyn Park Human Right Commission. He is currently the Republic of Liberia Honorary Consul General designate. He has conducted many workshops and seminars in Minnesota at conventions and programs. He is a motivational speaker. He is a graduate of Concordia University with an emphasis in Organizational Management and Leadership. He has lived in Minnesota for a little over 20 years and has gained a reputation for knowledge base perspective on African immigrant issues. He is humble and very passionate about communities building.
